Chanel Ground Control Fall Winter 2017/18 Show
The CHANEL Ground Control Fall / Winter 2017 show was held at the Grand Palais with a giant space rocket in front of the audience with a mission to take CHANEL N°5 to the moon. I would say – mission completed. To those who missed it, the CHANEL airspace did appear to lift-off, smoke, a 10 second dramatic countdown plus Elton John’s ‘Rocket Man’ playing in the background included. Chapeau! So, yes what else to say, you can always count on an out of this world runway set at CHANEL, Karl Lagerfeld literally took things out of this world at Paris Fashion Week. To the moon and back. The collection was inspired by outer space. Futuristic metallic boots, shiny headbands, galactic prints and space shawls walked the runway. I like the idea of galaxy dressing or lets better say astronaut attire for FW 2017. Behind the flashes and fumes it was a fairy familiar collection; suits with a hint of the sixties, many classy Coco coats and dresses with sparkly footwear. Black looks dotted with sparkly things to look like galaxies and constellations. Take a closer look on how Karl Lagerfeld reworked the classic CHANEL jacket – a vest lies above the jacket and produces a trompe l’oeil effect. The implemented volume in the collection is discreet and elegant. I don’t want to overload you with words, but instead of words there is my photo overload coming below. Please put your helmets on, the following images are going to take you to the CHANEL moon. #CHANELGroundControl
