One & Only Le Saint Géran in Mauritius is the first luxury hotel which debuted 42 years ago, the resort closed early in 2017 to facilitate a nine-month, $55 million renovation. The legendary One & Only Le Saint Géran is back and I had the opportunity to explore an icon for their reopening in Mauritius. It takes approximaltey 45 minutes from the Mauritius airport to the Peninsula, but you can also book a helicopter ride to speed up your arrival within 15 minutes. Those who have been loyal guests to the One & Only Le Saint Géran will know that the resort always takes care of a warm welcome. The Iconic Resort of Mauritius nestled on a pristine private peninsula, is the ultimate tropical playground for romantics and adventurers alike.  Just off the eastern coast of Madagascar, surrounded by warm Indian Ocean, endless beaches and azure lagoons, lies Mauritius. At the northern tip of the renowned Belle Mare coastline, you’ll find One&Only Le Saint Géran, undoubtedly the best place to stay in Mauritius. The resort welcomed back their guests beginning of December 2017 to a completely transformed resort. Boasting the ultimate location on the north-eastern coast of the island, One&Only Le Saint Géran is setting new standards of ultra-luxury in the Indian Ocean and beyond, much like it did when it originally opened in 1975.

(My place for coffee to-go and delicious ice cream.)

La Terrasse: Fresh and inviting, the much-loved La Terrasse showcases a diverse array of international specialities, savoured atop water features overlooking the pool and ocean.

I was beyond excited to discover the One&Only Le Saint Géran –  I have heard many great stories about the resort in Mauritius from my sister’s last trip and a few friends who have been traveling to the Saint Géran with their families for ages. We had some delay in Munich before we were able to board on our flight to Mauritius. I tried to sleep the whole flight to avoid being too tired once we arrive to the resort. But it didn’t work out, I was distracted by movies. Once we have finally arrived to the resort I’ve realized that I just reached paradise and the missed heat. I am a summer girl by heart, I love sun and the more tropical the heat the happier I am. I have already shared a few facts about the resort above, but I wanted to make sure this article has a personal note too. So, I really like the idea of booking a trip to the One&Only Le Saint Géran as a couple, with family or with a group of friends. It’s a great escape for those who need a discreet getaway. I’ve experienced all dining options that the resorts has to offer and especially liked the Tapasake and L’Artisan. Unfortunately my trip ended with loosing one of my favorite Chanel earrings which I have bought this year. I have lost the left earring somehow during dinner. Well, I’ve remained sad for a few minutes and reminded myself in what beautiful place I am and decided to make a brooch out of the one earring and gift it one day to my future daughter. It will have a story to tell and remind me of an unforgettable trip at the One & Only Le Saint Géran. The idea became quite charming and got a happy ending.
