December 6th 2017
Following Salzburg, Rome and Ritz Paris, Chanel will present its next Métiers d’art collection – back in Karl Lagerfeld’s hometown – in Hamburg, Germany, today on the 6 December. The show will take place at the Elbphilharmonie, a true work of architectural aptitude, created by Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, and situated in the heart of the Port of Hamburg.
Chanel shares, “Through the virtuosity of Karl Lagerfeld, the Chanel Métiers d’art collection honours the exceptional savoir-faire of the Chanel Métiers d’art, among which the embroiderers Maison Lesage and Atelier Montex, feather-maker Lemarié, shoemaker Massaro and hat-maker and milliner Maison Michel.”
This collection will be monumental for many reasons, namely that it will serve at Lagerfeld’s triumphant return to his birth place and hometown after first leaving for France 65 years ago.
