I was invited to join the Harpers Bazaar Pop Up Store opening at the designer outlet Bicester Village located 60 minutes from both London and Birmingham. It was my very first time at the Bicester Village and you can not imagine but it's indeed a shopping dream. Over 130 outlet boutiques providing fashion and luxuries for home, authentic previous seasons collections with savings of up to 60% on the recommended retail price. You will find out more informations about for example the brands, the Harpers Bazaar Launch and offers by clicking HERE. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you've probably noticed that I travelled with Häberlein&Maurer, Juliane from Style Shiver, Sarah from Josie Loves, Amandine from LesBerlinettes and Marlene Sorensen from Spruced by Marlene. Our press trip was truly well organized from just the beginning; we had a pleasant pick up by a 5***** chaffeur who brought us directly to the Bicester Village and to the Belgraves Hotel and back to the Airport. We had very comfortable rooms and their service was just in one word excellent. From the check-in to check out, cleanness, interior and supply - Yes, I am absolutely satisfied.
A very warm welcome by the amazing Belgraves Hotel - Thank you, thank you ...
I enjoyed my stay so much.
That was our breakfast at the Belgraves Hotel after I had my super early mile walk crossways through London from the Belgraves to the Chelsea Bridge to the Buckingham Palace, Jame's Park and my last stop the Westminster Bridge to snap a few shots of the Big Ben and London Eye for you readers. I started my journey around 8AM and got back to the hotel at 11AM. Best morning exercise combined with my biggest passion and creative activity - photography.
My german blogger colleagues from left to right: Amandine, Juliane & Sarah!
Left picture: Amandine & I went crazy about our sneakers. Thank god we chose to wear those comfy ones and to be honest they really look cool on that Harpers Bazaar rug. And to the left a shot of me and Harpers Bazaar UK Editor Jo Glynn-Smith after our short interview that was held by Juliane and myself. Read it yourself...
Sylvia&Juliane: What was the idea of the Harpers Bazaar Pop up Store in the Bicester Village?
Why did you do it?
Jo Glynn-Smith: Bicester Village always wanted to do a store in cooperation with a magazine. They just love Harpers Bazaar. Bicester Village is such a huge success story that we jumped at the idea of collaborating with them on a curated pop-up shop. But ...Oh my gosh how are we going to fill the store was our first consideration. Because you know there are all these brands here in the stores and we can not use any of those brands that are in the village for the shop that will bring some freshness. Obviously, so we thought to place typical luxury british brands, that we all know and the tourists might do not know. We present a luxurious gifting boutique providing a one-stop shop for the holiday season. For the britishness we brought labels in like Leathersmith of London, Grism, Miller Harris, Pickett or Espa. It promises to be the perfect gifting destination. The magazine Harpers Bazaar also wanted to support british designer brands that don't get the coverage in magazines like larger ones might do.
Sylvia&Juliane: Last but not least, a typical question. What's your personal trend piece in which we should invest for the upcoming winter season?
Invest in monochrome black and white pieces, that was quiet big in the autumn/winter fashion shows and I also saw a lot monochromic looks for the next spring/summer season. You can not go wrong with it.
Exchanging work experiences with Amandine & Sarah. Thanks to Juliane for this shot.
Another highlight of our stay in London was def our visit at the NET-A-PORTER HQ.
Never ever seen such a work place (that means that I am still speechless) and I would love to see their offices in NY & Hong Kong as well, I am still overwhelmed when I think about their huge amazing offices. It was a pleasure talking to the Affiliate & Partnership Executive, the global PR Manager and the German Marketing Manager, getting to know what they are doing at NET-A-PORTER, I felt truly comfortable thrilled by their amazing personalities. It was also interesting to hear how they see the potential in german bloggers. To be continued ...
